Access

There is no vehicle access to Swift Chalet. Guests park in the main car park (cost of parking included in rental) and then walk to the chalet.

Swift Chalet can be reached either over the beach (turn left on the pebbles and we are the first chalet you come to) or up the field through the gate next to the Car Park roundabout and turn right through the first gate on your right. This second route avoids the steps at the front of the chalet and the stream which crosses the beach after heavy rain or at high tide. The field route is part of the South West Coastal Path and gets a lot of foot traffic so can get muddy as well as being a bit steep so do take care.

Please note that since Storm Ciaran in November 2023 the beach has experienced serious erosion and is now much lower. Consequently there are more steps down from the chalet to the beach. Also the public access onto the beach beside the chalet is now a set of wooden steps which have been put up to replace the footpath that got swept away.

We recommend that anyone with mobility issues take these new more challenging access issues into account.
